[NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COMMUNITY MESSAGING - Northamptonshire West - 24.07.09 - WB/CMS/395/09 - WN12]

This is a message from Northamptonshire West Police to all residents in Northampton Town Centre.

Please be aware that a vehicle parked in St Michaels Mount was broken in to sometime between 220:00 Wednesday 22 July and 13:30 Thursday 23 July.

The offenders smashed the passenger side window, entered the vehicle and removed items. Damage to the interior of the vehicle was caused during the search.

People are reminded to remove all valuables from vehicles, rather than hide them in the glove box or boot. Remember to activate any alarm systems and use steering locks where fitted. Parking in well-lit areas is recommended if you are unable to secure your vehicle in a garage.

Drugs In Our Community

As you know, drugs are NEVER something we should turn our backs on. Drugs can be addictive, even cannabis and many people commit crime in order to get the cash to pay for drugs. There is also the side issue of dirty needles being left lying around the Semilong Community, as what happened recently when some were found outside Castle School.

For that reason, if you know anything about drugs in our community, please let the police know, let us know, or tell Crimestoppers.

This is an issue which must be tackled.
