[NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COMMUNITY MESSAGING - Northamptonshire West - 10.08.09 - WB/CMS/487/09 - WN12]

This is a message from Northamptonshire West Police to all residents in Northampton Town centre.

Please be aware that a number of vehicles were broken in to in your area over the weekend.

Artizan Road - between midnight and 08:30 Saturday 6 August offenders removed both wing mirrors from the vehicle.

Dunster Street - between 12:30 and 15:00 Saturday 6 August offenders removed a rucksack from the parked vehicle be reaching in an open window.

Victoria Road - Two vehicles had the windows smashed to gain entry, and items including a satellite navigation system were removed.

Residents are reminded to fully secure vehicle when not in use. Please remember to activate and alarm systems fitted, and use steering locks where possible. Remember to remove all valuables from your vehicle rather than hide them in the boot or glove box.

Drugs In Our Community

As you know, drugs are NEVER something we should turn our backs on. Drugs can be addictive, even cannabis and many people commit crime in order to get the cash to pay for drugs. There is also the side issue of dirty needles being left lying around the Semilong Community, as what happened recently when some were found outside Castle School.

For that reason, if you know anything about drugs in our community, please let the police know, let us know, or tell Crimestoppers.

This is an issue which must be tackled.
